Held in the Night of Shadows

Rain fell hard
carved cracks across
panes of glass.
Sharp lines spread
corner to corner,
blurred clear vision.

Mother spider crept
close and whispered,
They haven’t shattered
yet. I will weave my web
over the cracks. Keep you
safe as you dwell in
the night of shadows.
