Receiving five awards in NY city

May 29th, 2013. We are in New York City for the Book Expo, and tonight we traveled through midtown Manhattan to accept awards for HATTIE.

Our first stop was the Harvard Club for the Next Generation Indie Book Awards celebration – my novel was the winner in General Fiction, the winner in Best Design Fiction, and a finalist in the Women’s Issues category. What a thrill to be honored in all three categories!

Next Doug and I headed to the Marriott Marquis for the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Book Awards where HATTIE was recognized with the Silver Award in Popular Fiction.

Our last stop was The Providence for the Independent Publishers Book awards (IPPY) where HATTIE was honored with a Silver Medal for Visionary Fiction.

What an exciting experience this has been. I am so grateful for these accolades, and filled with joy! Look forward to the Book Expo tomorrow.
